So we’re mad that this public defender goes all out for his clients? His client was let go on all charges so hes clearly doing something right

I get the feeling this Judge has a habit of hearing out the prosecutor and then cutting off defense attorneys mid argument and just making his ruling, which I would imagine could get get pretty frustrating when you are trying to advocate for your client. Then the judge talks down to him in front of his client.

Since when does advocating for a client (especially one who ended up being acquitted) equate to “nagging”? The judge couldn’t even be bothered to stop fiddling with those sheets of paper while counsel plead on behalf of his client!

on disability, no criminal record, which means no violent priors. Found NOT GUILTY of the charge. And the prosecutor wanted 24-hr house arrest along with the GPS monitor and a 25K bond. Tough on crime. Yeah. That really benefits society. Keeping people detained when they COULD BE WORKING, paying taxes, even though not the case with this guy, for a previously mentioned issue, most likely.

Not guilty? So he was more than entitled to go that far for his client!
He put his career on the line for that guy! Kudos!

The Public Defender is completely in the right. He was barely given the time of day initially to make full submissions, and the judge never even addressed the accused's complete inability to come up with the money due to his financial situation. Sure, the judge lowers the bail to 10k, while knowing that it is still tantamount to a detention order. It's amazing how quick the judge operates, while failing to make a full record justifying his decision. Good on the PD for being a forceful advocate and doing his job fearlessly in the face of an arrogant, condescending, and disinterested judge.

"Nagging Public Defender" was just doing his job.

Savage! That is when a public defender absolutely stands for justice.

"You argue to the court/you argue with the court." I like that distinction.

Now that's how you advocate for a client!!!! He has someone future in his hands and he's not there to play around. Well done Public Defender.

As a public defender change the title of this video. Advocating for your clients and defending their constitutional rights is not nagging. Everyone hates a good defense lawyer until they or someone they know needs one.

Good that im not the only one thinking that the lawyer was actually right

Apparently he does know how to practice law. Even more reduced bond then all charges dropped. For a PD, that is a win for the defendant for sure.

title makes the public defender seem like the bad buy, but he's just doing his job for the client. what i see is the judge interupting him constantly and being short tempered and sarcastic. title should have been "judge acts like a jerk to public defender"

The judge probably has a reputation for being rude and not letting attorneys speak on behalf of their clients. It seems like this public defender is having none of it and refuses to become another number for the judge. Or perhaps the public defender had a different client and the judge treated him unfairly those causing the attorney to take it up a notch

Wow. A public defender that actually cares

I wish the public had had this much advocacy every time for each person, the jails wouldn’t be filled up so much. This is rare as this public defender who went out to bat for him. The best part of the outcome was, he was found not guilty. Usually PD make sure you plead guilty for a quicker outcome. Good for him! It seems to me, the only thing PD do is do a check list that they showed up in court, this one pointed out actual usable arguments as a defense. I bet the judge will be like…he’s new to this, after 6months of this, he’ll want to speed up this client list faster than me!

The judge didn’t let him speak. What’s the point of going to court. These judges are sensitive and weak.
