how can the prime jedi have a lightsabre? i thought they had force imbued swords and such before proto sabres and the sith invented modern lightsabres that don't need power packs to use.

Also The eternal empire and The alliance in the old Republic were very powerful because they didn't believe in just dark or light but that the force can kill just as much as give life.
