Sometimes I hate the fact that I’m about to be 27 just barely looking at advice to move out but have to remember everyone moves at their own pace. Your tips are super helpful, thank you so much :)

I’m 17 and saved up 8, 000$ in 5 months . currently turning 18 in july. I’m most definitely hoping to get my own apartment as a birthday present to my self. It’s all possible with a sprinkle of discipline on your spending habits, only spend on the things that u need and when I say need try to keep the things you need at a cheap level to. If it has to be done to reach a certain goal.. do it!! It will pay off so well.

Girl, I’m recently became a LPN and currently saving for my first apartment. The other day I was about to buy these $100 shoes.. had to talk myself out of it and put that money right into my saving account!

A great tip is to also round down when it comes to your monthly income and round up with the amount for each expense. That way, you’re saving more money when the bills actually start rolling in and you budget to live within your means ✨

I'm 17, i turn 18 in January. My house is a very toxic environment. I grew up with a very controlling, hypocritical mother. It isn't healthy. I need to save my money, and get out of here. I searched for solutions, found this video. Thank you so, so much! I have no idea how to manage money and i always feel awful about it. This video gives me hope!!

You're a natural saver! I save about $15, 000 dls a year on a slow year. But I work as a bartender.

A tip I have is to get your savings account at a credit union or a completely different bank to your savings. Make it difficult for yourself to transfer money from your savings to your checking. I used to just transfer the money when I wanted something lol now I have to go to my physical credit union to access my savings AND they’re closed on weekends. I have a CC for emergencies.

I opened a savings account 2 yrs ago for the very reason you did. I felt like I was saving but never saw the account really climb as much as I thought it should. Opened the Savings account, syphoned $20 a day to that account, man did I see it grow. This year going to up it to $28 a day = 10, 220 at the end of the yr.

Thank you for the savings tips! However, from a financial advisor point of view, I wanted to mention that a TFSA does not give Canadians a Tax break, also TFSA Withdrawals are TAX FREE, there are no fees. I think you were referring to a registered account which gives you a tax break and that is a RRSP.

It’s so refreshing to hear that you are doing baby steps with living on your own. I am doing the same thing, saving and looking for an apartment now.

Girl we are on the same page . I just moved also wanted a house but decided to do baby steps and got my apartment 💓✅ it’s so important for me having two separate accounts . I have a regular savings and I’m deff gonna look into a TFSA for future saving 💯
