This is all relative to your income. Make a savings goal that suits your lifestyle.

my advice is to personify money. for example, i limit myself to $50 of food a week. Even though I earn $50K, doesn't matter. I PUSH myself to the extreme and only allow myself to eat $50 worth and trust me it's do able. you start to immediately see foods that stand out as a luxury. Why treat myself to a $15 cake when i only have $50.... get my drift? Plus it also changes the way I look at other expenses. For example I was shopping on eBay and saw an item that I liked but it was $150. Normally I would've thought who cares i earn an okay salary, but now i think well shit that's THREE WEEKS worth of food. Is it really that important?

Spend only on things you need in life: food, shelter, clothes, and transportation. From there, save every pennies you can.

Great suggestions Brandon, even though not everyone will be in a position to do this. The general guidance and idea behind achieving this goal is solid. Great video keep it up!

I'm an Aussie, I save $13, 000 a year from my $500 a week income, the rest goes into stock market, paying my phone bill, internet bill and groceries for 3 members of my family $150 pw, clothing etc.
and paying for 3 streaming apps, Disney Plus, Netflix and Foxtel Now for all 3 members of my family.

I’ve done it. I work 3 jobs. Unfortunately, I don’t believe a lot of people can do it. Don’t worry about the time or amount. Just prioritize what’s important to you, and be happy. Life is too short.

Does endowment/investment related insurance policy consider as savings? Or is it an expense?

For years, I have been saving. Within a few months, when I see the bank balance grow, it is really motivating, like seeing muscles after joining the gym, and after sometime, the act of saving becomes quite addictive and it keeps me going.

Hmmm... I read a different opinion from an article. It says we should focus on spending money rather than save it in order to expand the potential of having a bigger income in the future, eg, socialising in order to broaden your network which might lead you to some opportunities. If we focus on saving, then probably we would save some opportunities as well. It sees the money spending/saving from a long term perspective

Make sure to set aside at least some portion of your income. Then increase it from there, either from saving more or adding extra income.

First I save, then I spend. More money I have, the more asymmetric bets I can make that give me a chance to become financial independent.

Like any money goal, breaking it down like you've done it all becomes manageable! Even if you only hit $9000 in savings in that time, you're already achieving more than the $5200 you initially would have had.

Quick question before I watch this video: how do I even save up to $10, 000 in 6 months when I don't even make $10, 000 in 6 months?

Love it that's really cool, my partner and I have actually been able to save $20, 000 in 6 months before and we hit $10, 000 in savings pretty often now. It is exactly as you say, just about reverse engineering and breaking it down into small manageable steps 💪🙌
