This works for a 2018, the 2017 ford escape doesn’t have this option

In a 2017 ford escape turn the car to the “on” position (push to start push the button without the brake) (key turn to on position)


After the car is on (not started) push in the brake and gas at the same time and hold until the car gives the message “reset complete” when you first start it will tell you “oil reset in progress”

For those without the menu item to reset the oil, but have a push-button start, hit the start button without pressing the brakes. The control system will come on but the engine will not start. Then press the gas and brake together and hold until the message "reset complete" appears.

This does not work for a 2016. You have to hold the brake and gas down at the same time and turn the key on but not start the vehicle. Vehicle isn't even an option on the menu for me.

When I get to settings, hit OK and scroll down, THERE IS NO....'VEHICLE' option, and thusly no, ' OIL LIFE RESET option.. I tried this many times on my keyless, 2016 escape, with ignition both on and off.

does not work on the 2017 Ford escape when you get into settings and go to vehicle your only choices are a compass, lighting and wipers… No indicator for oil

I have a 2017 and this did not work for me for some reason. However I did the hold the break and gas down at the same time and turn the key until the dash reads reset complete! Do not turn the key all the way!
