This was very timely for me, thanks for this, really puts things in perspective. It reminds me of the quote "Don't take criticism from someone you wouldn't take advice from"

“If anyone tells you that a certain person speaks ill of you, do not make excuses about what is said of you but answer, "He was ignorant of my other faults, else he would not have mentioned these alone.”
Epictetus

Don’t ever let another’s poor behavior be the impetus for you to then act in a similar fashion. There’s nothing more unbecoming than lowering yourself to meet someone at their level. When you rise above, you’re demonstrating self respect.

The best retort to someone criticizing you comes from Epictetus:
"You must not know all my other faults since I'm sure you would have mentioned those as well."

I always try to listen to criticism or even seek it out in order to improve my work. The more I am aware of what need to be improved the better chances I have of becoming better.

Thank you so much. I play this over and over like an affirmation. I hope it's the final piece of my puzzle. Thank you so much. Big help 🙏

I regularly enjoy Ryan’s thoughts and guidance, but today I’m happy he wears old t-shirts like I do.

You finally did it... You are (seemingly... please see video above. Lol) crossing the line from just reiterating digestible packets (usefully, IMO) the the wisdom of men wiser than us, that, were I a profoundly less lazy version of my best self, could easily read from a book of stoicism, to (again... "seemingly"; again... refer to self stated principle contained therein...) someone who has taken wisdom and delivered it in a manner that contains YOUR emotion and wisdom and amplifies and recontextualizes that wisdom so it becomes something more.

Congrats.

Great delivery today.

Perfection.

Kudos.

Thanks for this, it’s very timely. Had a situation where this is very applicable. I know I want to be a different person that the one who was criticizing me.
