You don't have to kill him. If you do become the embodyment for the Frenzied Flame, you come back to him as Shabriri, and speak to him, and then refresh the area and the loot will be there (that's how you actually complete his quests. without killing him)

What's crazy is i started this quest way back when I first started playing Elden Ring. When i saw the character i wanted his gear. So I would unlock map areas just to do the quest but after a while it became too much so I put the quest to the side and got busy doing a lot of other quest and farming. The other day I found a church to explore and who's laying there dying my friend Yura. I was low on items and almost died fighting his crazy girlfriend, but a cool surprise.

In my first playthrough I didn't bother with yuri's quest at all and accidentally encountered Eleonora while searching for sacred tears and at that point I was a bit overleved and got her poleblade with no effort at all

I literally explored the entire map and have never met him, i missed him and that's so upsetting

You DO NOT NEED to use the lift to get up to the Altus region. Just go to the very end of the lake, in the end of the ravine theres a cave that will take you there without ever having to use the lift.

For anyone searching for yura if he doesnt appear he is probably in the mountains in the snow area as shabiri kill him and you get armor and the katana is dropped after killing Eleonora in the Last place you met him alive, even is you didnt remember seeing him, i found it in the River even thought i never remember meeting with him there

If he isn’t showing up in certain locations, try talking to him more at the last place you saw him.

You don't need dectus lift medallions, the cave to the west of the dectus lift (shows as a hole with orange outline on the map) is another way of accessing the Atlas Platuea.

if you get to the mountaintops of the giants before doing his quest you'll be locked out of the entire first half of the quest, which gives good rewards so do it sooner then later

I missed Yura at the firs half of the game and only met Shabriri in the snowy mountains and killed him :3 And you can still get all weapons of his questline. Just visit relevant places of questline. You won't find Yura but you'll get invaded
