Just to make this clear: I know I made a mistake. I could have known this had I watched the trailers (which I did not), its more obvious than I make it out to be, there ARE other ways and I di a poor job wording things and made it look like I am claiming to find some crazy secret.
I am still learning to make videos like this so forgive me. I focused too much on trying to make it entertaining. Something to learn from.

Actually, there is a way down there without the chariot: If you go down the main lava road you started on up to where the room with the severed finger is, there is a drop down to your right.

I'd argue the exact opposite: Individual surprises like this are exactly what the game needed more of. There are soo many dungeons, it can't help but feel like we're repeating ourselves

I think that an obscure secret doesn’t need to be intuitive.

“How are you supposed to know about this?” You’re not. It’s a unique dungeon feature that rewards out of the box thinking. Not every player is meant to find every secret and I think that’s cool

Yep. It's like the only one without a statue on top. Definitely seemed like they wanted you to look for a way to get on top of it and sure enough...

Adding to that it appeared in the launch trailer, there's another path if you go down the first lava that takes you directly to the boss (and also to the finger weapon on the other side).

No statue on top of the Charriot, so it says it's "rider free" (you become the rider)

You're hanging OVER it an see what looks like a platform to jump on

and the HUGE pool of lava in front of you slowing you down should give you a good guess that THERE Is somekind of solution to go through

Ashes might be a lame reward, but Floh is one of my favorite ashes. Couldn’t have defeated Mohg without him. I love the idea of the tarnished having loyal companions as his ashes, and we get three ashes in the game that really fit that. Floh, lone wolves, and Latenna fit perfectly on the shortcut menu with the torrent whistle.

Figured this one out fairly quickly on my first playthrough. There are a bunch of clues.
I think it's really cool.
I also figured out the other chariots that you can break, but that was by accident.

I bloodhound stepped on my first playtrough, had absolutely no idea this was possible

I'm sure other people have said this, but they did actually show this in the launch trailer lmao.

Still though, it's great when you find something out yourself without looking it up! Awesome feeling. Plus, two neat armour sets.

I noticed this immediately. This was the first (and I think only) Chariot that doesn't have a rider. It had a clearly different design with a giant flat platform on top. That immediately told me there was something unique about THIS version of this challenge compared with every other in the game. And then being led to the rafters above the turn-around was the last breadcrumb needed to figure out what I had to do.

I did have to ride the chariot up and down a few times before I figured out how to safely get back OFF the thing, but yeah this didn't need a guide or a look-up at all. You just have to pay attention.

I completed that dungeon without ever noticing the rideable chariot. Also ... I have noticed that if you start rolling the moment you enter lava, you can keep spamming it, and you move a little faster than the mud-walk it normally forces you to. Also, Also ... I have never encountered a chariot that is impossible to get around with good timing and knowing where the next safe nook is. I never even used bloodhound step, and beat the game, plus every dungeon and tomb I tried.

The deathroot can be important for Beast builds. With all of the pre Morgott deathroots you can get boulder heave which isn't too bad, and just 1 more after that from the Tibia Mariner in mountaintops and you can get a pretty sick weapon in the Beastclaw Greathammer

For me figuring out I could drop down and ride the chariot was one of my most unforgettable experiences. Without that experience though, this heroes grave would have been pain.

Quickstep worked fine for me. DS3 Farron swamp dagger strat prepared me for this. Biggest problem for me was to trust the lava. Took me way too long to notice that the lava did not actually kill you in seconds like in previous titles. Once I noticed that the damage is minimal and it's basically a swamp quickstep came to mind immediately. I actually found out about riding the chariot while watching some playthrough after finishing the game myself.

One of my favorite dungeons because you can complete it extremely quickly by just dropping straight onto the beams from above. One of the shortest for sure if you know where to go. I love the handful of dungeons in ER that can be completed in seconds if you know where to drop.

Super bad clickbait title considering this is the intended solution of the dungeon

I did this two days ago. I’ve come to learn this game rewards attention to detail. I only was able to do it without a guide because I noticed the other two chariots had statutes as this one didn’t. It was simple for me but I’m sure a lot of people had issues here

Update: Yeah I had no idea it was in the trailer I avoided spoilers before release and I obviously tried to exaggerate it for this video. I also didn't do the best job wording things I was not trying to make it seem like I discovered it I am sharing my experience. But yes still learning to make good videos!
