How does your travel insurance stack up these days, travel is changing rapidly has your travel insurance kept up with these changes. Compare to our travel insurance and see if you have the vital additions that will get you home if you have a medical need while traveling.

Buy travel insurance while you are young, buy an annual travel policy if you make multiple trips and don't forget travel insurance while traveling inside Canada can be extremely beneficial. Healthcare in Canada is a provincial responsibility and each province sets prices for procedures and ambulances so you could be faced with a bill for an ambulance if you are out of province and your home province only pays a smaller amount. You will then have to pay the difference or your travel insurance will take care of it.

Buying a travel policy when young means the premiums won't be as expensive as you age as opposed to buying a policy in your sixties.

Don't travel without a good travel insurance policy that covers medical, cancellation, lost luggage and evacuation in emergencies.

Hi Tina and Norm! I truly look forward to seeing you each Saturday and hearing what you have to say. You always hit on some point I hadn't knew to look into. We can only ask questions that are in our scope of knowledge so thanks again for sharing your experience, ideas, and tips!

Hi Guys! We watched yoour most recent video this morning. As you are, we are also planning to "voyage" soon! I have to say that your video really opened our eyes to what we should be thinking about in planning time away as seniors. That gentleman's story perked my ears up for sure. You did a great public service by pointing out the vulnerabilities that can become quickly obvious if you or someone you love gets sick while on vacation, especially abroad. Wow, thanks again and one really enthusiastic thumbs up! Mary and Guillermo in Montreal.

I completely agree with your advice on insurance - it is vital. When something unexpected happens such as illness or accident, the trauma can be overwhelming for all involved so having a comprehensive policy, which includes stabilisation and medical evacuation with supervision, is literally life saving. I know this from personal experience and would urge everyone to take the time before you travel to obtain the best possible insurance.

Excellent advice. Even when we were young, and could only afford a long weekend trip, we always added in the insurance. Now, like you, we have the year round plan. Congratulations on your upcoming travel! Exciting.

Hi Tina and Norm, I really like when you guys talk about travel insurance as there is so much information that can get a little overwhelming. In 2014, I went to Florida and because I was using airmiles, I was told that I had to use their travel insurance which was only covered for 2 weeks and was very expensive. I'm so glad that I have a BMO Mastercard because it does cover for 30 days and helps me collect airmiles. Thank you and have a wonderful day!👍

Hi Norm and Tina. Your topic was very appropriate. We just booked a trip to Europe in September. I spent some time researching. Being 75 and 70, and it cost over $600 CAD for an annual policy. For example, you have to be " stable " for 180 days prior, if you have any condition. We went with TUGO insurance, a Canadian company based in BC. The credit card coverage really reduces over 70. We do enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work! Cheers David and Susan in Calgary

Good topic and I'm glad you have finally booked a vacation! I got my travel insurance through CAA. The one year policy for 30 day trips was just over $200 but a 61 day top up policy was over $300 (about $5/day). Didn't realize that other insurers will sell top up policies. Good to know!

We had never really thought of this since we typically only travel in the US. However, I think it's a great idea. Thanks so much for bringing to our attention. Lynn and Danny

Oh wow! Thankyou so much for sharing Doug’s experience. I never realised you continue with an annual travel insurance! I’ve only taken it out when we’ve travelled. But we are about to travel later this year and my husbands 67 I’m 63 so I’m very nervous at the thought of what the premium will be. Years ago our credit card automatically had travel insurance but not anymore. Thankyou so much for highlighting this. I’ll start researching now. The joys of getting older!! 🤣

Great info, thank you for this. We just got back from a cruise & when looking for insurance coverage for our trip we had called a few places. My husband had cancer but is fully recovered now but our insurance company would not cover him. We eventually got coverage through TD bank at a reasonable rate. Enjoy your trip!

Hi guys. This, as usual, was an outstanding, informative and useful program. Years ago, when I was checking out travel packages I always noticed that most travel companies offered optional travel insurance that covered medical emergencies and trip cancellation fees. I have since learned from several friends that those who thought that they would "save their money" and not purchase the additional insurance learned to their horror that an actual medical emergency happened and they were out thousands of dollars. One couple were touring Ireland and the wife had a stroke. She was hospitalized in two different facilities for several weeks and then had to fly back to Vancouver. They had to purchase two First Class tickets( for the patient and a doctor accompanying her). Her husband flew in Economy Class. They said that it was an extremely expensive lesson learned. The lady did recover and lived another ten years and enjoyed more trips and cruises but they always made sure that they had excellent travel insurance from then on. It just goes to show that travel insurance is so important to have, always. Take care and have a great week. 👍🤗❤✈🙏🌎

Thank you for sharing information about this important topic. There are some people who don't think/know about the importance of purchasing travel insurance, like a friend of mine (in his 40's) who broke his scapula skiing in the Swiss Alps earlier this year. He needed to be airlifted off the mountain and spent several days in hospital. Now he is paying the price. $100, 000+ medical bill and one important lesson learned. Hope you two are having a fun weekend ☺

Great topic- for all ages and all sorts of travel experiences. We too have had an annual coverage travel insurance for many years. It also covers domestic outings ( overnight stays in country of residence) So stress free and reassuring. Have a great Sunday and wonderful week. Happy travels when you do finally get to spread your wings. 🍷 🍷 🤩 ✈️ 🇳🇱 🙋‍♀️ 🇳🇿
