This is the best German recipe in existence. My grandma was from Olsztyn, and had to leave her home together with my grandpa shortly after the war ended. This is my favorite food ever. Whenever I was sick or not feeling too good. Or whenever I visited her before an extreme case of Alzheimer’s got the best of her, she would make this absolute delicacy for me. She would not use any sardines for the meat, which some people do. (She knew everyone in my family hated fish) and she would use way more Capers for the sauce.
