While I'm french, my great grandpa was from Czechoslovakia. The guy was amazing, he spoke fluent french, german, english, russian and czech of course. His diary is written in all five language.
He came to france to study but would end up finding a wife and staying there. My mother remembers him quite foundly, he was a very kind grandpa to her she tells me. I never knew him unfortunaltely as he died quietly in his sleep before my mother ever met my father.

My Grandma's family came here from Czechoslovakia. I tried to carry on some of the food traditions, especially with my baking 😊

my mum grew up in Czechoslovakia (she's Hungarian) honestly, that's not too bad. That knédli looks tragic though. You should try buchty, personal favourite.

Im from Slovakia, and the meal you cooked is the national meal of Cechia. Velvet revolution was against comunists, it didnt split Cechoslovakia. Its leader was first postcomunist Ptesident. And the split was done souly by politishns, most people are kind of nostalgic for older days, and we are still each other "Brother Nations"
