🧠 I've also struggled with Trichotillomania, something that comes along with my anxiety and has since my childhood, so I appreciated you talking about that. thanks for sharing your secrets, Katie!

I have OCD and also dermatillomania, among other things. Thank you for being brave and sharing about your mental illnesses. It will help others. Dermotillomania is a skin picking disorder, like the trichotillomania but with skin picking instead of hair pulling. None of these conditions or any others are anything to be embarassed about. To anyone reading this please know that you are not alone in whatever you're going through.

The other day I overheard my two-year-old say your name in conversation with my 5yr old. I asked him who Katie Carney was and he said "Your friend on YouTube!" Apparently we're friends Katie🙃 and I watch your channel too much...lol.🧠

I'm so happy for you that you've never tried drugs, don't ever start, there is no need and it is not helpful in any way. Good for you, girl!!

Never was taken to a doctor to be diagnosed but definitely also struggled with Trichotillomania. I pulled my eyebrows and eyelashes as a young girl. I fortunately don’t have the same issues as an adult that I dealt with then, which likely caused it, but the residual urges sometimes are still there. Hooray for God’s love and healing... and transparency and community! ❤️ 🙌🏼

🧠🧠🧠. OMG! I am 49. I have pulled out my hair and eyebrows since I was 13. I never knew it had a name. I just new I HAD to do it. Ive suffered from anxiety and panic disorder for as long as I can remember. My story is very similar to yours (house fire). Thank you so much for sharing your life on the daily with us. You are a very special young lady.

Trich is so common. Very proud of you. It's so brave to be public about something so misunderstood or not known about it all. I've struggled with trich since about age 8 in foster care. It can be hereditary. My aunt had it. My youngest son has it as well, despite him never knowing I had it.

As I’m sitting here pulling at my eyebrows...glad to know I’m not the only person who relies heavily on eyebrow pencils. It’s part of my anxiety/OCD. 🧠

Thanks for talking about your mental health struggles. I'm currently in Residential Treatment for OCD and watching your videos helps me unwind at the end of long therapy days

You mean there's another goody-two-shoes kid out there? I thought I was the only one! My kids couldn't stand it when my mom would tell them stories about what a good kid I that used to tick them off!
Glad to know someone else that was such a goody-two-shoes!!!!
( and Katie, I'm 65 yrs old and have never done any elicit drugs either. The drinking age when I was younger was 18 and I didn't drink for 6 months after my B-day, LOL!

I have dermatillomania which is where you pick at your skin when you’re stressed out. It used to be so bad that my arms and face were scarred for years. 😬 Thanks for being so transparent and real. You’re awesome ❤️ Ps the red lipstick is so beautiful on you!💄

🧠 I have a close friend whose daughter also deals with trichotillomania, and I know it’s on the rare side. Thanks for speaking up about it. I would imagine someone needed to hear you say it and can now feel a little less alone ❤️

I don't know how to do imogis but wanted to say thank you for being so brave to tell us about your personal secrets. You giggle when you tell us, but I know it's hard to be vulnerable. It actually takes the pressure off. Now you know we know, and you never have to wonder if we 'know.' Makes sense. I love you no matter what, but glad you told on yourself... for you.

Katie, I’m sure this wasn’t easy for you to share this, but glad you did. You do so much to let people know they are not alone. Helps to remove whatever stigma is associated with mental health issues. 🧠🧠🧠

I’m bipolar, and I know mental illness can sometimes overpower every aspect of your life. I really love that you’re so open about it. 🧠

I started pulling out my eyebrows and eyelashes in high school and still do it. I did it out of boredom in highschool. Now it's probably more of an anxiety thing.

Katie I think it’s awesome that you have become more comfortable about being open about yourself and what it is that you deal with in life. Your such an inspiration for other individuals that deal with depression, anxiety, and other disorders.
