How to swim a Catch Up Drill | FORM
Показать описание
When working on your swim technique for freestyle it is important to strengthen the pull portion of your stroke. Catch-up drills are great for engaging your arms while practicing a consistent flutter kick. While doing this drill, keep your head down and hold a steady kick. Start with both hands together and pull with one arm at a time. Slow down your arm and keep your elbow high and your fingertips pointed down as you pull back. Pull under your shoulder and finish past your hip.
With practice, you'll work towards a stronger stroke which will contribute to your overall swim efficiency and speed.
Note: If you are unable to perform a drill based on lack of equipment or comfort level, swim freestyle and focus on the three key points:
1. Keep your head down
2. High elbows & fingertips pointed down
3. Pull under the shoulder
