I changed my swimming technique to a two beat kick and a breath on every right stroke like in this video. Over a 1 year period, about 4 months of the year. I can now swim for 2 hours. About 500m at a time and then rest a bit and then swim again. 20 laps in 25m pool. Then rest. People think I'm a professional swimmer now. These YouTube videos are so amazing to people who can study something and apply it through feeling your way through different swimming drills. I taught myself to swim from watching YouTube videos. Thank you. Your channel and skills and talents channel helped me a lot. Hi so I haven't been swimming since maybe a month after I made this comment. I was enjoying swimming so much that I over did it. I messed up my shoulder so I'm busy with physio for my shoulder right now. It's also winter and I used a public swimming pool around the corner from me, so the pool is closed until summer again.

However I was only swimming on weekends..I would go every Saturday morning to the pool and occasionally in the week I would go for a swimming session, but also we were by the beach almost every weekend with family and friends, so I would swim in the ocean top, but the beach I went to most of the time was like a cove, the water was very calm so I could swim up and down in the ocean too.. so I basically went to swim every weekend and I would either be in the beach almost whole day lol, playing and swimming laps, or I would be by the public swimming pool for about 2 hour sessions but I always wanted up being like 4 hours in the water.

Damm I miss the water. I actually went one day to the gym like 3 weeks ago to use the indoor swimming pool, but I can feel my shoulder is not ready, so I just swam one lap and got out. 😪😭 I can't wait for my shoulder to get better.

But what I would suggest to anyone is to learn to slow things down when learning how to swim..that's how I learned. I started doing different swimming drills that I saw on youtube and it absolutely changed my swimming drastically. I swam at the beach once and I swam with lifeguards and a swimming instructor. The group started swimming and they were racing eachother..they swam a quarter of the way and I decided to join in to test myself..when I came to the finish point. I thought they had finished way before me. But when I looked back, they still had a quarter of the way to swim..I was so shocked that I swam so good in the ocean. They then came to me and the swimming instructor asked me if I swim professionally because they don't recognize me. So I said I'm only learning how to swim. That's how I realized that I am swimming Damm good and I never had one person teaching me one on one. I just watched YouTube channel like this giving different advice and swimming drills and I applied it in the water.

At age 52, i decided to learn swimming. As an adult learner, we want to understand first, then apply! This video is very helpful. Can't wait ti get into water and try these techniques!

"The water is 800 times more dense than air" is the swimmer equivalent of "the midochondria is the powerhouse of the cell"

I think this is the only vedio where i came across class room teaching on board, which is very easy to understand the body mechanics behind swimming.

Love this. My kid's USA swim coaches don't even go into this much detail. This is more like the clinics we send him too.
Now I am learning to swim on my own and these videos are amazing. 🎉

Greetings And Salutations this upload made myself recall when I first got into swimming & triathlons. I actually told my swim meet instructor that '' I want to train like I was an intrepid swimmer.'' Good Luck THANKS
