I am a plumber, and I developed a very similar method to secure the flange bolts before setting a toilet. Nice work!

You saved the day. Bolt was spinning. The flange screwed to the floor had been there for 30 years and the screw heads stripped. This simple solution should’ve been easy to figure out, but I was stumped. It worked!

I had a plastic flange that the new home builder had set directly into the concrete floor 30 years earlier. No fixes online until I found this video! Thanks!

Wow, you just saved me a possible call to a plumber and saved me loads of stress. Before this video, I had used the Danco Perfect Seal, which was OK after removing the blue top, but I was tightening my bolts on the floor, when crack. Had to lift off toilet, scrap the Perfect Seal and saw that my bolt had rotated while tightening and cracked a bit of my flange, yikes. I tried your technique and also added a small washer under the bolt to still engage the flange, used a new Perfect Seal and easy peasy! Bolts didn't moved and now was more secure than before!! Great, easy idea!! Thank you!!

Wow a double nut, that should get to a standard in every toilet bowl to the flange installation, but I have the feeling our toilet would hit the bottom nut !! Thanks!

Thank you! Thought I was gonna lose my mind yesterday!

Thank you I had thought of that, but dismissed it. Today I checked and there was a recess in the casting deep enough for the nut.
Worked great 👍

I agree 1000 % with Michael genius idea, I like the idea of the square bolt from amazon too but, they appear to be plastic no?

I don’t know if I’d trust nylon bolts. Great video thank you!

So how did you get the toilet removed? The bolts are spinning on my toilet and I need to know how to get the nuts off of the bolts so I can remove the toilet. How did you remove the toilet when the bolts were only spinning and not allowing you to remove the nuts?

Great but how the hell did you get the old one off when the anchor bolts were spinning?
