Divorcing My Wife After Learning Her Affair, Turns Out My Daughter Covered It Up Relationship Advice

I (50m) found out that my wife (49f) was having an affair with a man in his 30s. I was crushed and started the divorce process. We have four children (25f 23m 21m 20f) together and since all the children are legal adults I intend to wash my hands of this woman completely, and only see or talk to her at events that involve our children. My wife doesn't want a divorce and is begging for us to go to therapy, but I have refused. She has broken my trust in one of the worst ways and I don't want to spend the rest of my life with doubt.

If that was me & my wife was giving a passive aggressive speech about family sticking together to try & justify her infidelity I'd simply say, "so where was this sense of family unity you're speaking for while you were out betraying this family by having an affair'.

The only reason why the wife insists on saving her family because it’s harder for her to find a man in her 50s. The husband is secured in her mind. That’s sick manipulation.
How can she talk about saving the family when she’s the one who broke it and turned the oldest daughter against the dad?

1st Story: Sometimes cutting out people, even family, is necessary. I doubt I would ever speak to my daughter again had she betrayed me like this.

Story 1 - There is a double standard in reddit.

When parents do something questionable these guys are up in arms saying to go no contact and that they are toxic parent.

But when it is the child, oh give them the benefit of the the Doubt.

I guess it is because people who are using reddit are young people.

2nd story is easy. Just mimic your FIL actions with one of your wife's friends in front of her, FIL and MIL. And if they have an issue just point out it is just harmless flirting and asks why she has an issue with you doing it but not her father.🤷
