Are you wondering how to start in the tech field? are you looking for a career in IT? I think IT is for problem solvers and people thinking outside of the box. You don't need to be a total nerd you need to be curious, logical, and creative, if you are a helpful or people person it's a big plus. BEST IT people do NOT always have or started with a crazy passion for computers. Some people have a passion for solving and creating something bigger something helpful meaningful and are passionate about learning new things... exceeding at those things.. and they are all insanely curious and that is what keeps them going :) ... Remember that for most the curious people passion comes with doing something well and getting better at it, discovering something every day, so don't give up!

Thank you for this video very much. I want to work in IT so bad, and in my school I help with desktops and Ubuntu and Linux like you mentioned in the video. I also help with my non profit job with website issues and updating/improvement. I feel like I'm ready to go into the IT field and I'm going to be doing PSEO for it in my senior year. This video really helped me out and confirmed my decision on being an IT engineer. <3

I’ll be honest brother I have no experience in I.T or any type of tech but I love technology and I’ve always wanted to learn a lot about it and I feel like this is one of the best routes for me but my question is I wanna go for networking and security as someone who has little to no experience in I.T would those options be a bad decision for me since I have no experience? Apologies if the question is confusing
Love your vid by the way

I would like to get into IT. I love hardware and building PCs, but I also want to learn networking and maybe become a network engineer. I'm not going to lie, those networking engineering salaries that I saw on indeed are very tempting. The idea that I could be earning six figures in 5-10 years got me thinking about it, even though I've been considering getting into the field for years now.

The only issue I have is severe anxiety. I can learn the skills and get the certs but, dealing with the people might be a problem.

I love learning and I love technology. One of my big issues is burnout and proper study habits. What was your method of studying

"Start a YouTube channel..." - That's one of the things I did after getting punted out of my IT job. 'People skills' are great, but in far too many toxic workplaces there is a need to deal with office politics. Bosses and co-workers treat you as a threat if you perform well. Certainly, that exists outside the IT field, but here is something that exists more there:

Agism. Once you get into a certain age in IT, it's all over many times. It isn't possible to get rehired in many instances. In my instance, I didn't get certified in anything, because it wasn't needed. I built up a Help Desk for them and managed five people at the peak but they outsourced it from under me. So I did SysAmin, Assistant Network Admin, and NOC staffing but it was just staving off them waiting to get rid of me.

If someone is in a location with more IT jobs, move around some. Never get comfortable thinking they can't and won't replace you with someone else. If you see the signs, jump to another place.
