So you book a vehicle online. You will be using it for an 8 day trip out of state and back. You have scheduled your time off from work. Your friend that you are visiting also scheduled their time off from work. The day before you are supposed to pick up the vehicle, the host cancels the rental on you. Now you are screwed as you scramble around trying to find another vehicle. Maybe you do. Or maybe you have to cancel the entire trip.

so we are thinking of going this route. usually rent from dollar or some counter at the airport. if you pay in advance and the person doesn't show to give you your car isnt that person a fish out of water? Do those things happen when you rent from Turo? what happens if your car won't start or something happens to the car you rented. do they bring you another one like the big rental places do?

I came back to look into it and was able to get to the confirm booking page, BUT on the account tab it says I’m not approved. I contacted support and they said I’m good to go and it’s when I do my first booking that I’m confirmed. Is that true? I’m not approved until I book?
