Make sure to hit the thruster. If you hit anything else it does not destroy the drop pod.

Also, don’t shoot the fallen hellbombs stuck in the dead spewers.

They are bombs.

And they kinda hurt.

To be clear, shooting them down doesn't necessarily kill all the attached bots. It usually gets most of them, but many often survive (and depending on the objective, the wreckage that falls can often block you in inconvenient ways).

Shooting them down is fun, but shooting the bottom with a splash damage weapon (grenade launcher or autocannon in particular) is usually way more efficient in terms of actually clearing the enemies that are going to attack you. The dropship itself doesn't have weapons, so it isn't actually the threat.

Don’t forget to aim for the thrusters with your launcher. Hit it anywhere else and it won’t be affected. Also they like to fly up a few feet right before dropping off their troops which can throw your aim off, so watch out for that. Another thing to note is that, sadly, the rocket sentry has no effect on the drop ships because it doesn’t aim for the thrusters.

Grenade launchers are also great for packs of enemies, killing dropships, armored walkers, and bosses.

Why waste ammo on the dropship when the grenade launcher can clean the bottom off in a second

Remember to always help your brother quick reload these when facing multiple dropship. Would really save your ass from being overwhelmed.

Use the recoiless and aim for the thrusters. It’s way more efficient

Drop ships do not destroy all the bots they are carrying by shooting them down. They take fall damage, but you still have to pepper the crash site with bullets to fully destroy the reinforcements. Tanks I don't think take any damage from drop ship crash. Maybe I'm just really unlucky but I'm my experience, it kills the fodder bots, but everything else will be stuck in the crash but very much alive

the rocket doesn't kill the people inside every time from what i hear but it does work to kill the ship.

Quasar cannon works too, they have infinite ammo hlbut one downside is it takes awhile to recharge.

Bonous fact. Their is a weird animation thing so if you shoot down to he ship even if the troops have been released it will crash eith where the droops droped and kill them all

The Anti Air launcher optional objective shoot down the drop ships too

I think theres an AA optional which will automatically shoot them down for you if you do it aswell

SEAF SAM Sites need a buff, seriously.
Map-wide coverage, endless SAMs, one SAM kills a bot dropship and gunships, and preferably BEFORE they get to the part where they drop their loads.

Its pointless to work on getting the darned thing up and running if all they do is pop the bot ships AFTER they've already delivered their payloads...

The turrets target the dropships and do no damage its so annoying

Shooting a dropship will not kill all the robots it caries, just the one it lands on
