RNA splicing

Very basic video to describe RNA splicing and then some information on how mRNA can be purified. Not meant to be graduate level information, just an introduction.

if there occurs a 2 base pair insertion at middle of intron sequences in DNA...what will be the effect on translation???

Is there any way to calculate how many possibilities there are with alternative splicing? For example there is a new code when the blue square is removed (1 possibility) and a new code when the green square is removed. Including removals and rearrangements, could you calculate how many different code sequences are created thanks to RNA splicing? My teacher asked this and it seems like it would be hundreds of possibilities. Just wanted to know if there was a concrete number calculation. Thanks!

For alternative splicing, can the exons be arranged in a different order? Or can they only be spliced out as was shown in the video.
