WRONG! Do not fill cavities per National Arbor Day Foundation, International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and every other professional organization, Arboretum and horticulture and arboriculture research university in the US and world wide.

And dont forget to let your arborist know that you filled the tree with concrete when they estimate to remove. Spray foam works way better!!

this is incorrect. your not sopose to fill with concrete. at most mabey spray foam.and with spray foam only partially as to allow moisture to evaporate.you never want to lock in the moisture. the foam is flexible as the tree grows aswell. but honestly i wouldn't even use spray foam. now with concrete in the tree you can never visually inspect that cavity agian.purning seal was a good move but that concrete will cause damage later on when the tree trys to grow around it.

I had an arborist tell me to do this same thing to a Birch tree more than 30 years ago and the tree remained healthy for many years be fore I cut it down do to an addition on the house

Men.good jib. If you add calcium.carbonate it will be better for.tree it prevent decay, mold is better than concrete becose tree use.carbon and calcium yo build
You can.use.ash from.burned wood. Stinging nettle and other plants mortared with ash or lime will be beneficent. Dealing it with concrete will prevent tree from feeling up.hole so.is not best but still better than nothing at all from what iv learned.
