Laptop screen replacement / How to replace laptop screen Lenovo ThinkPad T440p

SO I found out that T440p and T440s can have their screens upgraded from base HD/720p to IPS without the need of a special LCD ribbon cable or motherboard! Sadly the base T440 model cannot be upgraded, but I've read some rumours that the base T450 can be upgraded to IPS!

Keep in mind this is not a touchpanel model, as they have a glass and technically don't have a bezel. I have not researched if touchpanels can be upgraded.

Screen swap was very easy! This is my first video in awhile...
So far 4 videos every year it seems :x

Overall the screen is good, MUCH better than the stock TFT screens. The LCD does shift a darker hue, you could kind of see the screen as 'grainy', however the AUO B140HAN01.3 screen that I have from my T430s is much more superior.

But you can't beat a 3 year warranty and fast shipping, the panel was a bargain!

I have upgraded my t440 to a B140HAN01.1 panel. If I boot the laptop the screen is blank. If I then plug the laptop into a Lenovo dock with a monitor attached the laptop screen then comes on - not the monitor. I can't really explain what's happening. To sum up - my laptop screen only works when I have an external monitor attached.

just changed my t440 and damn its like night and day, did the ips samsung screen, only thing is i think i broke the bezel tryin to put it back on lol, is that eaasy to replace?

Is there a way to use a fhd touch screen panel with the t440p?

hi, i'm very interested in buy this laptop for cheap and the upgrading it, however I see in your video that there's a noticeable flickr on the screen after the replacement, something not present on the older screen. is it due to the camera or is it something you see in real usage?

no you can not exchange FHD IPS for WQHD, imposible. connector wont allow you to do that. FULL HD has edp 30pin adn WQHD has edp 40pin

Is it true that generally going to higher resolution that can cause issues? So if I used an old 4:3 aspect ratio screen with 1600 x 1200 could that work (have the same 30 pinout) ?

if anybody have trouble with backlight regulation after lcd replacement let is know we have solution for that.
