This is a beautiful scarlet-red 2021 HP 15 Laptop PC, Model Number: 15-dw0083wm
And today we are going to review its various quirks and features, take it out on the road and at the end we'll give it a Doug score.

No, just kidding, today we're replacing its screen, don't sue us Doug.

To replace the screen you'll need a bunch of plastic picks, an exact-o-knife and an industrial hairdryer.

To begin make sure the laptop appears to be off and disconnect the power cord so it's not in the way.
This laptop has a couple of Phillips screws on the bottom, they do not need to be removed. Instead use your thumbs to gently separate the plastic frame around the screen. Start from the left edge, unless you live where people don't read from left to right, in which case you can do whatever edge you want first. Go around the perimeter carefully unsnapping the tabs underneath. Take extra care around the webcam area.

The bottom edge is glued in, which is done to prevent any cleaning liquids from getting into the laptop, because people continue to spray directly on the screen instead of the cleaning cloth. Use an exact-o-knife to cut any glue strands and using moderate effort unglue the bottom edge from the display. The bottom edge is being held in-place with the hinge cover, which is not easily removable. Carefully pull out the bottom edge freeing it from the hinge cover, set the plastic frame aside.

There are a couple of Phillips screws at the top corners of the display, those also don't need to be removed. In-fact there are no screws that need to be removed in this tutorial at all

In 2021 the LCDs are held in place with unflavoured bubble gum. You will need to use an industrial hairdryer, also known as a heat-gun to soften the bubble gum. Use your hand to feel the temperature as you evenly warm up the two edges. If you start screaming the temperature is simply too high, and you should try moving the heat-gun further away.

Once you get bored of waiving the heat-gun around, you can try inserting a plastic pick behind the LCD on the right edge, and do the same on the left edge. This applies pressure on the bubble gum to help with separation. Wave the heat-gun around for a little more. Continue separation by sliding the picks down towards the bottom edge. Keep waiving the heat-gun. Use a third plastic pick to separate the bubble gum from behind the LCD. Continue applying heat to keep the bubble gum pliable.

Once the separation is achieved place the LCD on the keyboard. Resist the temptation to try the bubble gum, its completely bland and flavourless we promise. You can reuse it on the replacement screen, just straighten it out and leave it be.

If you have recently cut your nails, use a plastic pick to separate the clear tape securing the video connector. And using both hands slide out the video connector away from the LCD. Put the old screen aside.

At this point the new screen can be installed. The most important part for the success of the whole replacement process is reconnecting this video connector. Use both hands to slide it straight in, the connector must not be slanted or twisted when plugging it it.

If the start-up graphics appears the LCD is connected properly. Shut down the laptop by holding the power button.

Proceed on replacing the plastic frame, start at the bottom edge. Then clip in the top right corner and button up the right and the top edges. Clip in the left top corner. Button up the left edge. Support the back cover as you clip in the bottom edge. Use a plastic pick to pull the hinge cover over the bottom edge. Wipe the screen, reconnect the power, turn the laptop on, and we're done!

You really don't need to heat up the back of the screen. That sticky 2 sided tape is designed to be pulled out straight up and it will come out perfectly fine. Just take out all the screws to provide a little play/wiggle room, grab onto the sticky tape at the top with some needle nose pliers and pull straight up. It will come out no problem. Just make sure the replacement screen you get comes with the 2 sided tape OR just use your own.

Bro, Today dell technician changed my laptop display screen. But the brightness is not as before. Brightness is less in this. Is it common or the screen is fake?

What's lacking in this video that I think is the most important is that you never mentioned not even one compatible screen replacement model for this laptop.

I have an client who wants to get his laptop screen repaired. A simple crack in the middle. Do I have to buy a really specific screen for it? Or can I just buy any LCD screen with the correct size? If you could help me with it I would appreciate it!

I have a problem, but it's not my screen. It's the casing around drop has separated part of it from the hinge and a couple parts are definitely broken in the left side hinge and with tabs securing it to the hinge....do you have, or know who might have those parts? It's an HP 15-dw3xxx

what an awful video, those adhesive "bubble gum" strips are pull tabs, just pull from the top and they come out. you will warp the laptop lid doing it this way.
