Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series laptop screen replacement tutorial. Step-by-step instructions.

This is a guide on replacing an LCD on a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series

To begin press and hold the power button to turn off the laptop and disconnect the power cord.

Now we can remove the bezel. Start from the left side. Gently pulling the inner edge of the bezel away from the glass. Once the edge is unsnapped go around the perimeter unsnapping the tabs at the top, right side and the bottom. Put the bezel aside.

Using a phillips screwdriver remove four screws holding the LCD panel. Two screws at the top and two more screws at the bottom. Place the LCD on the keyboard. Gently peel off the clear tape securing the video connector. Open the connector’s bracket. Disconnect the video cable. Discard the old panel.

At this point the new LCD can be installed.

Take the new LCD screen and place it on the keyboard. Using both hands reconnect the video cable. Close the connector’s bracket. Secure it with a clear tape.

CAUTION! It is very important not to force any of the connectors. You must not twist or slant the connector when plugging it in.

Make sure that the video cable stays in the correct position and lift the screen up aligning it with its mounting holes. Replace the four phillips screws. One in each corner. Replace the bezel. Start from the top. Press firmly snapping the
tabs back in place, than move down pushing the bezel to the bottom side. Turn the laptop over and make sure that the bezel is snapped in near the hinge cover.

Press the power button and if the start up graphics appears the LCD screen is installed correctly, and we are done!

The newer 2021 version has a different hinge set up than what is shown here. Lots of broken hinges as a result. There was an apparent design change that appears to be faulty.

Replaced the new screen but the pc did not boot up.

I replaced the screen on my Inspiron 15 3000. It works fine but soon my mouse went crazy. I tried to download a new driver, but eventually it still has a mind of it's own. I notice when I use two screens, the arrow will return to the home screen. I have a wireless mouse. The issue doesn't seem to happen until I log on where I can get to the internet.
