I frequently get requests for tutorials about various parts of my maps, so I've decided to start a series where I will be going through how to start building a custom minecraft map.

In this eight episode we start copying a randomized arena into place so we have a playing field.

This series is designed for Minecraft 1.9 - the Minecraft 1.8 part has been discontinued.

So sliced, if you teleported the selected arena armor stand in increments of 1 block, and then cloned the blocks relatively from him using /execute @e[tag=Selected] ~ ~ ~ clone ~1 ~-63 ~ ~63 ~ ~ ~(whatever the cords are relative to the destined arena) would it not get rid of the big chain of command blocks?

cant we teleport the arena armorstand then clone some of it to an absolute coordinate in spawn chunks then have another armorstand in the actual arena in the lobby then clone it from absolute coordinate to armorstand that is on the lobby

but in 1.10 minecraft lets you copy the blocks including entities but with structure block

You could just place all the arenas wherever you want, don't clone them, but place the players inside it. But you would have to make every coordinate relative and execute everything from the arena armor stand.

Hey slicedlime, I have a question. How would you make a random timer? I want to make something happen in my game randomly between 1 and 2 minutes, so that there is a bit variation between the games. How would I do that?

This is how I got so far:
I created a scoreboard called 'Count', and added an Armor Stand with a random value between 1200 and 2400 (60 and 120 seconds), and decrease it by one each tick. Once its value hits 0, I can run commands off it and set it the value back to a random value. But how would I get a random value?

In advance, this has little to do with this video in particular: Hi! I'm working on a map based off of Conway's Game of Life (look it up if you are unsure of what it is) and am having serious lag issues with very few command blocks placed and no entities aside from myself. Is it the Void world type? Does my PC just suck? (It's not doing it in other worlds though...)
