Tried ALL the suggested fixes, but what worked for me: In Firefox, HELP -> Troubleshoot Mode -> RESTART w extensions/etc disable. YouTube worked!!! Then, same back to all extensions enabled. And then, YouTube continued to worked. AMAZING!!!
So, when this happens again. Will repeat and then investigate each of my Firefox extensions. THANK YOU for this tutorial.

Your last step worked like a charm! Top right drop down menu, then "Help", then "Troubleshooting", then "Refresh Firefox".

I spent months with youtube and all google products loading really slowly, or not at all. I recently removed avast to try windows defender 365 (coupled with malware bytes) and it seems to have fixed all google issues. Youtube now loads properly.

Nothing I tried works, YouTube plays randomly on Firefox some times it plays and sometimes not. it seems since the last update in Firefox. WHY DON"T THEY FIX THIS.

I'm not having issues watching youtube. What is annoying is that on Firefox: if you start on the subscription page, watch a video from the feed, and then when the video is finished you press the back button to go back to subscriptions, it doesn't work. The back button is greyed out and you cannot select it. I just want to be able to go back without manually hitting "subscriptions" in the sidebar

The fire fox interface has changed the layout of Youtube and NOBODY IS addressing it! The comment section is moved next to the description, I get the small picture when I scroll down and have large thumbnails. If I open the comment section, it appears on the right. IT SUCKS!
