Generational ships are actually an interesting idea, the only problem is you’d need to have tons of fuel, seeds of every plant ect and a solid food source

At constant 1g you get to light speed in under a year, the problem is fuel. Star systems are on avg 7 light years apart. I doubt we'd be able to build a generational ship before we get the right energy density so it'd be hopping system per generation.
