I can’t even fathom how many times the kids will be asking “are we there yet” on a generational ship

Generation ships are a good idea, but the next generation might care less and less about our goals.😅

With these diesel prices you would think you could go to another galaxy lmao

Plot twist, we already are on a generational ship, it's called earth 🌎

The only way that we see the next star is if we implant our consciousness into a mechanical body

Actually, we're already on a generational ship. It just doesn't go anywhere except around the sun 😁

THat's why the "Popsicle People" method is so common in Sci-FI. It's the most plausibly feasible method we currently know of.

After working with Equipment and moving components for the last 40 years. I can say that most of our technologies will not work reliably work after 10 years. Circuit boards will fail, Sensors will fail, the motor will need to rewind and bearings replaced, the LED will fail, batteries will die, transistors will fail, transmissions go bad, and everything else will break down. And out in space, good luck with a 3D printer without materials after 100 years. We should rejoice and make a better earth and enjoy while we are in the sun's Goldilocks zone.

Bit of a problem with having enough food and air to last generations? The gulag escapes would bring a sandwich but even with a large crew sandwiches might not last generations.

The limitation of one's human is lifespan. So know your worth, if it's not you, its for next generation

The only thing that can prevent us from going is the instrument of deaths extinction before we learn how and many how’s comes in the trip

It’ll have to spin due to no gravity. Our bodies would changed over time.

people seem to not know that the space between galaxies is by far bigger than the galaxies itslef, same with solar systems and the spaces between them...
