Cushing patient here. Yes, in fact I DO have cortisol face (currently resting at 600 but was 800 so it’s improving!) I know cortisol face and it drives me crazy when I see those videos. To get to the point I am at (unrecognisable from 10 years ago) you have to go through HELL to get there. Including multiple surgeries. Multiple organs removed. Steroids daily. And a few organ failures. And a couple of unconscious episodes, daily.
These people wouldn’t know what “high cortisol” felt like if it slapped them in the face.

Rant. Over.

Cortisol face is not caused by cortisol alone, it's caused by everything that raises cortisol. Got it!

Dr Idriss _where is this sweater from?_ I love it.

And I feel bad for all of the people who actually have cortisol disorders that cause real cortisol face. It must be frustrating to hear it used so lightly all over social media

I like the subtle cues to the husband as the cause for ALL the stress!!! 😂 The subtlety...very demure, very mindful. 😂

I had this when I first started recovery from anorexia. My positive ANA was up high because I was introducing foods that I would restrict for over 7 years. Mine was the result of inflammation and water retention from recovery. This isn’t something you’ll just get from mental stress.

I was so stressed snd burnt out. Career and my own small business, on top of normal busy life stuff. Add on multiple family deaths and a divorce... Yep i was stressed to the max. It eventually led to anxiety. When i was tested, my cortisol was through the roof. After anxiety/depression meds, therapy, stopping my side business.. it went down. And my face and stomach slimmed down too, my face cleared up, my bofy ached less and i had more energy. No changes in diet or exercise. Coritsol/stress can impact you a lot, but i agree, these fads try and make everyone think they have the issue when it could also be a million other things.

I would imagine cortisol face mostly occurs in those taking oral corticosteroids or glucocorticosteroids such as prednisolone or Prednisone just to name a few they are often used for autoimmune conditions such as lupus or they are sometimes used for those with severe eczema

Yes, I get puffy face sometimes and I know is caused by some foods, salt, stress 👉😅 or less rest. Anyway, I noticed that daily care routine helps and meditation does too 😇

I have ptsd and when it flares up my face gets puffy because i end up eating more salt, sleep worse and eat milk chocolate! Plus i neglect my skin care so my face gets puffy but its not cortisol face. My cortisol levels are normal according to blood tests lol

You get so cute and giddy when your husband is in your presence❤. Side note... my face got super swollen and wide now that I'm in my mid 30s. I'm guessing this is absolutely normal.
