One sees you as their parent. They are meowing. The others see you as their child. They bring you living mice to train your hunting skills.

During 2020 my husband was in the hospital for 23 days with severe water in the chest lung lining and blood infection. After a week of him not being home my two cats started bringing me a mice, chipmunks moles daily. Before his hospital stay it was very random, but while he was away they were actively hunting to feed me. I think they thought he abandoned us. Since he has been home since (except for work) they have gone back to random hunting.

Cats are alot nicer than people give them credit for. We're basically just giant, clumsy, hairless cats who can't fend for ourselves but they love us anyway

The housecats I live with share a special connection with me. I do feel like they think of me as a relative. Any time I get sick or feel really down, the oldest will find me and snuggle up for the day. Rarely leaving me for other things like the litter box or food.

I keep a water dish in my room for my dog to have a safe space to drink and also for nighttime when she stays with me. And that’s one of the few things that the eldest cat will leave to do if he’s keeping me company.

The fact that he can sense and figure out when I’m in rough shape either with physical or mental health and keeps me company, going so far as to swap positions to wherever I’m cold to keep me warm, is amazing how he knows how to keep me feeling safe. (Don’t get me wrong, My dog also shows the same affection, but just in different ways.).

The youngest still thinks of himself as a kitten, but he also likes sleeping in my living space. Maybe it’s quieter for him, or perhaps he just likes the scents. But he’s not as much of a cuddled with people yet. He’s still young though, only two years old.

Cats are just too cute for me, even though I saw them on the streets (like a stray cat/Feral Cat) and carrying them with their owners, I just can't get over how cute they are. They are precious <3

I'm not sure how much cats realize that the food and shelter are coming from us rather than just kind of being there.
