Hi, has this issue got any fix now? I agree we can change the compatibility settings for each app exclusively but my desktop itself fails to show crisp display when running 1920x1080 resolution on a 4K LG monitor. What is the way to change compatibility settings for desktop / windows explorer itself? I need to use 1920 x 1080 res because my main usage is to run my work related app mainly, and that doesn't support 4k. Moreover LG claims 60Hz on 4K display whereas it supports a maximum of 30fps only at 4K, so my mouse seems very sluggish when working on 4K. Thanks in advance!

The compability mode always the last resort to put things right. I have a small windows tablet with also uses scalling and most opensource programs work fine with that. IRfanview is still on the run. How does it performs on Linux Desktop the scalling?

I am running into a similar issue and its most apparent in youtube videos with small text. I am on a laptop connected to my 3440 x 1440 monitor. I am definite that the same size window and all its content are visible on my laptop screen, but things just because too "sharp?" on my monitor. Your video for example at 3:55 playing in 2160p 4K, I am having a hard time reading the words in your window explorer. I can see them, but there is just some artifacts or "blurriness". Do you know if there is a fix for this?

I've tried Cleartype, optimizing NVIDIA control panel and the compatibility DPI settings, those don't work either. To provide more context, I have my desktop divided into a 4 panel grid, with your video at 3:55 in one of the quadrant, there is not enough squinting or moving-closer that'll make the text clearer. I suspect its a software issue, and hopefully you or someone here can help.

Is there a way to set up the following in Windows lap out,
I have 20 inch monitors and then a 40 inch Monitor to above it.
Is the way in windows to change it from money to size instead of resolution size
It will be the same if you put the money to next to your second money to and then put another exact size money to above one so the side of the 4K TV would be exactly the same of the 220 inch 4K monitors

Oh wow, I forgot how to change that. After I had changed screen resolution I had the most blurry text imaginable. Now it is clear, thank you for your help 3 years after you made this video.

The first couple of years since 4k came out, and still continues to happen, is that many programs don't support scaling. Business/proprietary programs are horrible at supporting 4k.

If you want a bit of background, what that option does is make Windows fake one of several older APIs instead of what the application requests. There's at least 4 ways Windows handled DPI scaling. Originally it didn't at all (before said monitors existed). Once they started appearing, Windows started providing an API to tell an application what DPI setting to use for the entire application. In Windows 8, that was upgraded to specify the sizing per-monitor, and in Windows 10 it can be specified and swapped per-window. If an app doesn't support scaling, Windows will go and rescale the image of the window itself, which causes the blurring. It doesn't affect the title bar because that's controlled by Windows itself.

It's kinda ironic Vegas doesn't have good high DPI support out of the box, considering I'd imagine many video editors use high DPi monitors.

When i turn on scaling when i maximize my apps, there is a large green border around the app and its really annoying, MS office is shit on 4k, either i cant see anything since the words are so small or its blury

I have a 42.5" 4K monitor and have had various problems, currently Atmel studio right click menu's do not work properly. The big issue is when having multiple monitors.

I have two monitors. My main is 1440 and the other is 1080. Google chrome looks bury on my 1440 and i cant fix it :(
