Keen eyes will notice that I actually filmed this back in July 😅. I just haven't given myself the time to edit this due to lack of time. However it's out and what did you think?

Thank you for the comparison, these cameras are irresistible, if you buy the A6700 you will want the A7IV and viceversa :)

Just ordered the a6700 with a sigma 18- 50mm 2.8. For me it’s the perfect upgrade from a Nikon 1 j5. Mainly because of its size which suits my style of taking photos.. on the go. Not just hiking and mountain biking camera, I like to take a camera with me wherever I go, even just to the shops just incase a opportunity catches my eye.

Great video! I was able to see a difference, even though it was very small. The highlight rolloff is always smoother on a FF sensor, that’s what gives it away for me. But the image coming from the a6700 is still fantastic. I would personally always pick FF over apsc. I’m using the original a7c and have fallen in love with the image it produces. I upgraded from an a6300, just because it is very old and beat up. It was time for retirement 😂
I didn’t think going FF would make a big difference, because I loved the old and trusty a6300, but it did. The files are so much more robust, and can take more pushing and pulling, and the low light is just amazing. Even the video quality looks a lot better and endures more pushing and pulling, still being 8bit. Although, when I bought the a7c, the 6700 wasn’t out yet. But I still think I would’ve gotten the FF, knowing what I know now 😂
Anyway, if on a 1500 budget for a body I’d say buy a used FF for photos, but maybe something like the 6700 for videos, if 10bit is important to you. But basically all of these Sony cameras are monsters and are more than capable of producing “professional” photos and videos.

Keep up the good work man! I love your channel. The content is getting better and better. I just miss Oscar, haven’t seen him in while 😂

I would love to see you do a A6700 vs A7C (or A7C II) comparison some day

I've bought a6700 for wildlife a month ago. I can't stand this evf on the left with the heavy lens, it completely changes the balance for me, so I decided to sell it and buy a7IV. Let's see how it will go :) I was hoping that I will bear with the crappy ergonomic of Sony Aps-c, but I can't.

Your breakdown of the Sony a6700 and a74 was like a camera duel turned poetry—every technical detail danced to its own rhythm. You made comparing cameras an art form! 😎

I love that you put blind tests into this, always helpful! Only able to tell the difference by DoF and never because of quality, DR or similar.
When you say that the new AF on the a6700 is better, can we somehow put that into numbers? like from 100 shots 97% hit rate vs 90% of the A7IV or what are we talking?

such a great video. Awesome edits, cuts, and multi-angle usage.

I have the FX30. I think the a6700 would be a great a/b-cam for my FX30. I actually shot some test footage with the a6700 at a Sony event and was extremely impressed with the results.

The test scenes looked better with more in focus, so I preferred the images coming from the a6700 side. 🙃 Full frame might've won if it was stopped down to match though.

Bought the a7cii, ( my fault for not realising) but not a single zoom in the range of 16-55/16-50mm, and I can only afford one lens, since I do all types of photography, one lens is no use to me, so sending it back and sacrificing image quality a bit and going with the a6700 and, sony 16-55mm 2.8 g

The one thing I never knew about apsc lens is that you also have to do the 1.5x with the aperture max I.e. if you have a 1.8f on apsc you’re really getting a 2.7 aperture 😮😮

Somehow I find it awesome and practical for you to have something recorded months ago and "just need to edit" while still having enough videos to upload in the pipeline :) Awesome job as always!
Regarding the topic I have the feeling this APS-C and full frame discussion is only relevant, when you talk about low light or bad lighting conditions. It's in such environments, where full frame can really play its advantage. You are more flexible with full frame and can push the image a bit more. In good lighting condition, it really doesn't matter which camera you pick. Every camera nowadays has excelent image quality. Sure you could argue full frame can provide more bokeh, but companies like Viltrox are building excellent fast APS-C lenses which can rival full frame bokeh.
And if I'm honest, I also like the fast F stop on every lens and bokeh is always great, but yesterday I watched a lens review / vlog where the guy had to shoot at F22 since it always sunny outside and no ND filter available - me as a viewer didn't care less about the bokeh missing xD

Great comparison👍🏻just bought the a6700 body only, i spent two years before that with the a6000 with the kit lens nothing serious using it just for travelling, now im trying to get in the path of photographers 🤭🫣 always loved this passion of takings pictures, should i get the tamron 17-70 mm or sigma 18-50mm which one the you recommend and thanks 🙏🏻

I can see the difference, although I wouldn't argue one was 'better' than the other, just different looks. I prefer the full-frame, which is a shame as I like the idea of a cheaper, lighter camera.

Your videos are always well made but i actually really appreciate the break down and even i was surprised i was able distinguish the difference for a few of the pictures, keep up the good work and i love that you pronunciation keeps improving with each video but we still get bloopers 😅

Having switched from APS-C to full frame myself the differences in the comparison shots were pretty obvious to me because I was comparing the shots from the Nikon Z50 to the Nikon Z7 II I use now 🙂
Especially the first one gave it away. Same field of view, shallower depth of field on the left resulting from using the same focal length at a shorter distance.
...At least I assume you used the same lens and aperture, otherwise you can feel free to ignore me 🤪
But I think there were some very subtle differences in the dynamic range. On the full frame body you have just ever so slightly more details in the sky and the shadows. But it really is subtle and it might as well just be the look of that sensor.
Personally I did notice a pretty solid bump in dynamic range when I made the switch myself. For example, shooting in bright sunlight isn't nearly as tough anymore.

the inexpensive APSC lenses are certainly tempting. The a6700 is great, but the full frame sensor crushes..especially when you use it everyday, 100k+images the difference at times is not always there, but you'll see it over the long run
