They were way out of line, obviously. But this is where I realized why I dislike Rory (apart from her being a serial cheater her whole life). She rants about being poor and having humble upbrining, but then she says things like: "Do they not know I'm a Gilmore"? Very much implying that she WILL flex and use that everytime it benefits her. She can (and does) use both worlds as she pleases. She can be a small town girl who knows all about the struggles of the lower class and critisizes the rich. And she can also be the rich, privileged girl, from an important family, who got into great schools, because of her grandparents money and connections. Also, they do treat her the same way Richard treated Dean and yet we're generally meant to see Richard as the sympathetic grandpa (personally I could always sympathize with Emily more than Richard, but that's just me)

2:19 The irony of Rory eventually breaking up with Logan right after he proposed to her, because she wants to be a reporter and travel around. lol. The Huntsbergers were right in the end.

I like how later Emily puts Logan's mom in her place and tells her something like, "Didn't Mitchum meet you at a bar?" 😂😅

Did anyone else notice that the grandfather and Shira treat Rory the same way Richard treated dean that time when he came to dinner! Ironic right?

I sort of wish we got to see Mitchum’s reaction to what his family did. He’s always been sort of a mysterious character that limbos back and forth from being the bad guy and the good guy.

"This isn't at all about her mother" That tells me this is exactly what this is about. The issue they have with Rory is that she wasn't raised "right" in their eyes and won't be able to value the things they value because Lorelai fought against it.

1. Shira is obviously a gold digger trophy wife type of woman and grandpa is ok with her.

2. This "discussion" can wait until Rory is no longer present. It's extremely poor manners to treat a guest like that.

3. They hate Rory because of her mother. She is born out of wedlock, from a teen maid mom who ran away from home and disgraced her family and a deadbeat father.

4. They probably don't want a career woman as Logan's wife since they think a woman's place is supporting her husband. But I don't think this is the reason they rejected Rory.

Funny how the "best bred" people are the ones with the least manners... If I acted like this my mother would give me one look and I'd be quiet the rest of the evening. It's pretty weird they don't see for themselves how their behaviour makes them trash people.

Berating Rory was one thing. Suggesting a more suitable partner right in front of her was another level of diabolical. All the money in the world and yet no sense of tact...

Unpopular opinion but i love seeing rory being put in her place once in a while and get a taste of her own medicine. She is like the serena vanderwoodsen of stars hollow but instead of fashion she takes cover under books but deep down she is selfish and narcissistic without any accountability or realisation. Even paris seems like an angel next to her character despite being a serial bully.

The fact that, in the face of two very grown adults telling Rory to her face that she'll never be good enough for their family, people are directing most of their criticisms at Rory. That is INSANE. Logan's grandfather and mother are being needlessly and viciously cruel to Rory. Rory saying "but I'm a Gilmore?" is a natural reaction! My God! She's spent however many years with her grandmother and grandfather, hearing about their status, seeing the way other people treat her family name, seeing their wealth, attending their events, of COURSE she would say "I'm a Gilmore." How is that confusing or out of line?

The main problem with the Rory character is that she wants to become a reporter reporting in wars, world catastrophes, crimes against Humanity ... but she is a delicate girl with no stomach for the horrible and grosss and disgusting facts of humanitarian tragedies. She was great in Math and Natural Sciences in Chilton, she should be a scientist researcher . Or be in Business Management, or in Political Science to be a politician.

Unpopular opinion....the Hunzberger were not that mean to Rory. They said that Rory wanted a career, which is true she was not brought up in a household to have her life revolve around her husband and his business, which is also true. The only bad thing is that Rory went into the Huntzberger's house thinking that they would obviously love her because she is career oriented and into journalism, and she is a Gilmore( and a Hayden). So Rory thought she was set, and they would love her

It wasn’t her “family tree” they didn’t like, they didn’t like her independence. Logan’s mom was right, she was not breed to a wife of a Heir. She could have won them over with her willingness to learn or even challenge them like in Crazy Rich Asians. But Rory was not built got that life. Which is why she decided to become his mistress instead of his wife.
