My dad played skyrim all the time for hours on end every day. He used to love the game and would always become happy whenever playing, this was his favorite song. He passed in 2016 due to heat stroke. Everytime I hear this song I cant help but think of him. I hope hes playing his favorite game still...

I took speakers with me to the summit at Dude Mountain (Alaska) and watched the stars listening to Secunda, aurora, and frostfall.. and when the aurora borealis came out it was one of the most peaceful beautiful moments of my entire life.. . taking the soundtrack out into nature makes things even more beautiful... (and scary when steel on steel comes on)

I started playing this when i was 12 years old, just a kid without a single worry in the world; it consumed me. Everyday I would look forward to coming home from school, sitting on the floor of my living room, and starting up my xbox 360 to play this.
No matter what my family was doing in the background, no matter how much my siblings bothered me while I was playing, no matter how many distractions there were, my pull towards the screen was unbreakable, and my envelopment within Tamriel was undeniable.
Sometimes, I like to think back to how the game made me feel; completely free. I felt that in the world I was living in, every rule and expectation that was put on me could only hinder me.
Skyrim was different though, I could be who I wanted to be, do what I wanted to do, and go where I wanted to go with nobody to tell me otherwise.
Im rambling in a comment section where most people wont see this, but I just wanted to materialize my gratitude for this game, and for the beautiful memories that come with it.
And thank you so so much Jeremy Soule, for composing a soundtrack that I can only describe and melancholic yet hopeful, you have shaped my outlook on this world.

Love this track, it's so peaceful and brings childhood memories of curiosity and exploration into my mind. Walking through rain drenched forests in the country or far up north in the pine forests covered in knee deep snow. Stars at their brightest..
