The classic first person shooter from Crytek is back with the action-packed gameplay, sandbox world, and thrilling epic battles you loved the first time around – now with remastered graphics optimized for a new generation of hardware.

What begins as a simple rescue mission becomes the battleground of a new war as alien invaders swarm over a Lingshan island chain. Armed with a powerful Nanosuit, players can become invisible to stalk enemy patrols, or boost strength to lay waste to vehicles. The Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armor, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight, while a huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style. In the ever-changing environment, adapt tactics and gear to dominate your enemies, in an enormous sandbox world.

Suit up: Your Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armor, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight.

Adapt: In an ever-changing environment, adapt your tactics to dominate on battlefields ranging from frozen jungle to alien environments.

Customize: A huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style, with options ranging from the experimental to the alien.

Conquer: Life-like enemy AI requires a strategic and flexible playstyle, as new challenges – including a zero-g battlefield– require players to take the offensive and be proactive.

Explore: Choose your own path through the open world of Crysis, destroying obstacles, driving vehicles, and using the environment itself against your enemies.

Thanks for the review. Had a blast with the original. Not sure I'm going to jump into this remake. As you said, I think I'll wait for the sequels. Loved Pt. 2.

part way through and regarding your mention how the suit works, by default it's using the crysis 2/3 controls scheme added by this remaster instead of the original which was more modular, you'd hold a button and move the mouse to the power you want which is armour, power, invisibility, speed and the customisation of weapons. you can play with the original's controls, it's in the options menu and it will fix your issues with how it plays regarding sprint because now your dedicated sprint button won't keep using your energy so you have that separation. not only that but on enhanced speed mode, your default speed is much faster so you can strafe and shoot much more better.

yeah i'd say crysis 1 encourages stealth more than 2 or 3 and that's because the original was more of a tactical shooter like the old rainbow six games with larger maps and suit powers, rather than a game like 2 or 3 that allows for dedicated run and gun or stealth. it's more use stealth to get to a group, switch to armour, light them up while they are surprised and cant' hurt you due to armour, plant a trap on the area, cloak away, enemies come near due to sounds and you trigger the explosives or you ambush them or snipe them, due to that, a lot of people genuinely feels this original was better, though i can't comment on the current condition of this remaster if they have quick saves or not, that was in the original game.

I liked the suit capabilities, but as you said, it leaves the player vulnerable most of the time, even with armor mode, which is actually ridiculous. Also, is it possible to select a specific ability other than using the traditional key combinations?

Thanks for the review. Just out of curiosity, do you really think Crysis 2 & 3 were better games than the original? I'm not judging but you are the first person that I heard saying that

That's a fair review imo, i never played the Crysis because all the reasons you said; i've seen it beign played and... it's an average shooter when it comes to it's mechanics.

In a nutshell stick to the original which looks and plays a lot better than this trash of a remaster which is a port of a horrible port...

Thanks for the honest review, can you play multiplayer offline? Thinking of picking up the Crysis and I really miss playing multiplayer without having to go online to play.
