Crysis Remastered Review - MAXIMUM DISAPPOINTMENT

Cut content, poor initial performance and missing graphical features make Crysis Remastered one of the most lacklustre remasters of this generation.

the lighting in this is really poor. "Oh, but it's dynamic, global illuminaton blah blah blah..." it looks flat and cartoonish.
Tech is nothing without design and this game destroys the original design.

This version also doesn't have trees etc that react to explosions etc. Which was a big part of the original game for some.

Well according to Crytek Twitter feed, they have updates, more enhancements to performance and graphics enhancements in the pipeline. I'm going to wait however - they should never have released it in the state they did. That being said I have seen a number of Xbox One X videos were a number of users are getting smooth performance over the past two days.

Update: Played the remastered trilogy and in Crysis 1, the level "Ascension" has been put in and it's downright awful. The worst in game flying experience I've ever had and I will always go back to the chapter select menu just so I can skip it.

What baffles me is that if the developers released this game mere months before the next gen consoles. The game would look much better if it released exclusively on ps5, Series X/S and pc (I understand that releasing it on current gen has the benefit of availablity, but think about: Full ray Tracing, faster loading, better sound quality and 4K 60fps)

Crytek games have never been about "nothing can run it, because it's too advanced".
Instead it's about "nothing can run it because we don't bother with optimization."
This just proves it once again.

A new Crysis game would have been better, NOT a remaster. I recently rebought it (PC, massively cheap and easier to run diskless)

I remember playing the original and thinking 'Hmmm.. maybe in 10-15 years time this will be really playable!'
