Awful frame rate in performance mode. Awful picture when in ray tracing mode basically unplayable. Awful quality when in quality mode. Was this game not tested before releasing on xbox. P.s. this was on the xbox one x.

I don't understand all the dislikes, pretty much everything he stated in his review is the plain old truth, and I do enjoy Crysis for what it is, but aside from it's graphics (at least on PC) the game didn't age well. Even back in 2007 while the level of interaction with environments was incredible and still is, I didn't find the game particularly good, I think Far Cry 1 was much better.

Umm.. how the hell would you even want to remaster those graphics?? For ps4 it looks gorgeous! Do not forget that this is a REMASTER, not a REMAKE!

I'm sure the PC version is great but on a console it's absolutely terrible. The graphics are ok. There's definitely better looking shooters out there but the gameplay feels so clunky and slow. I had to put the controller down after 20 mintues.

The original crysis was mostly looking good in the vegetation, beaches, and streams. Any other graphics apart from that were average. Like inside buildings, and the ship at the end. I suppose it was lucky that most of the game was set in vegetation areas. I found the blue stuff in low gravity a bit annoying, and difficult to even see what stuff was.

Great review man and you really help me decide to make a decision on whether or not I would get this. Just ignore the PC assholes that are being negative in the comment section. I heard you say several times that you were playing it on Xbox one x but, the PC sjws insist that you are trying to trash the game. Just ignore them because you clearly said you were playing this on the Xbox One x and you were showing off what it looks like on the Xbox one x which has made me decide to not get the game since the graphics look that ugly. AGAIN great honest review!

calling this review biased because he doesn't like the gameplay is ironic since that statement is in itself a biased opinion in favor of the game; you want others to validate the same opinion as yours.

BS about the gameplay. The gameplay is still great. The graphics are a mess on X1X for sure. The fact that you never liked Crysis in 2007, for some reason, makes you very biased if a remaster is done. I haven't played any FarCry more than once because it is the ultimate in repetitive games (tower, bunch of bad guys, tower, bunch of bad guys, hunting, hunting, hunting, tower, ...). But I definately played Crysis over 30 times because of the gameplay; the shooting feels great, the suit is so much fun, tanks, aliens, ....

you can't run ray tracing on the xbox one x, I don't even know why they would include that option in the settings unless it's to take advantage of next gen hardware

You really need to play on a Hard or Hardest difficulty. It's amazing. They stop speaking english and start using tactics.

My main issue with it is the fact that the performance is so damn bad. It's got the performance of something like Metro Exodus. Now Metro Exodus actually has the graphics to back up that bad performance. But this? These graphics are last-last gen quality. The physics are still nice, but this is still very much just a graphical showcase game from 2007. I mean, shit, there's modern indie games that have more impressive lighting, textures, and geometry than this game.

Games have truly evolved since 2007. Endless battle royal games. Endless "broken" games released unfinished. Countless cash ins on loot boxes. Endless dlcs. More games that abandon the single player experience over jumping on the online only cash cow. Games that make you grind for hours on end just to progress a fraction. The list goes on. Playing crysis reminds you of a bygone game where a simple premise great gunplay and just outright fun was the best reason to play games. Everyone's opinion is their own and this is just mine. I love crysis always have always will.

I love the gameplay and generally disagree with your opinion but I gave a thumbs up because the quality of this review is fine and I don't believe differences of opinion deserve downvotes.

Folks can down vote for any reason they want but i believe an opinion piece such as a review, should only be downvoted for poor workmanship or bad ethics, neither of which are on display here.

Here's my opinion; if you downvote a review just because you disagree with the reviewers opinion then you're missing the point and it's very likely that you're being a great big silly-billy.

the free mods like black fire mods are much more better in everything. they should have added at least a coop mod or something

You really need to stress that this is on a console. You make it sound like it's the game in general while it's the platform. The PC version actually looks like a recently released game. Fantastic graphic upgrades and definitely makes it look modern.
