Thank you Matt for converting the TULIP series into video format. I think I've listened to the audio series on podcast at least three times already. I've even forwarded it to my liberal Pentecostal senior pastor. Thanks Matt, enlightening. I've been living the deception and deceiving others that I am a born again Christian since praying the prayer back in 1976. After 44 years of church-going & Bible reading you confirmed for me that I'm just a wannabe & may never be. I've been going through the motions for most of my life, but now realize I've been resisting my sinful nature on my own, never having confirmation of God's Spirit with my spirit that I'm His child. Do you have any teachings on the security of the unbeliever? Once unsaved always unsaved? I guess there is no such thing as "hope for the hopeless". There never was hope for them "from before the foundations of the world"! Happy for your election (a little envious!) Oh well, what's a person to do, it's not up to us. What are all your teachings for anyway? All the elect will get it & those who aren't won't! (rather, CAN'T)

Thanks for putting up all of the scripture examples. I read several of them in my ESV Holy Bible! I agree with the Reformed position. I'm Anglican (Protestant / English expression of the Reformation). It's possible that anti-5 Points people may also concurrently be KJV Onlyists or at least strongly prefer that translation. So if ever a discussion of Total Depravity...or Unconditional Election were to occur with someone from a different theological position, ect...you may want to have a King James Bible handy.

Ephesians 1:5 God (The Father) decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ (The Son). This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone (the Father gave to the son) to perish, but everyone (the Father gave to the son) to come to repentance.

According to total depravity, this scripture below is pointless.

Acts 2:21
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

According to your theory that scripture is a lie and worse still God is tormenting mankind with it. Your doctrine is clearly false.

Ezekiel 18 states that a person is accountable for their own sins, and not the sins of their father. Furthermore, a son can see his father's evil ways, turn away from them, and be considered righteous. Unless God is being disingenuous in this passage and is telling them to do something that he knows that they can't do, this flies in the face of Augustinian ideas about original sin and Calvin's ideas about total inability.

"20 [...]The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.

21 “But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die. 22 None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them. Because of the righteous things they have done, they will live. 23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord.
