Is TWSOUL tree climbing gear the SAFEST most affordable on the market?

In our last video we used the TWSOUL tree climbing kit to harvest 10lbs of Chaga. Did I feel safe? Was it worth the $119.99CAD we spent on it? Well, check out our video for what we think.

Something is meant to be found, and I am glad that I came across your video. As someone who was making adventure videos on YouTube and also lost the drive, spirit, soul, and finding this brings all the greatest feelings that I once knew. Thank you so much for bringing and sharing this with us, because it showed me what I have been missing in my life. Thank you and wish you good luck on your journeys. :)

Cheers, this is a kind of gear that I would not need to use in my part of Norway as the trees are small here, but for that reason it is really interesting to watch your review and how you use! Good fun:)

I’ve never spiked a tree or a utility pole but I did work on installing and servicing radio towers.
The climbing/safety harness I wore had to be rated and certified by OSHA/NIOSH. It was about a bajillion times ‘beefier’ than what you’re using lol
For going up a tree to get chaga occasionally, as long as you’re comfortable with what you have, go for it.
My one request is that you NEVER do it alone.

This was very informative! Might have to go Chaga hunting myself!

The orange strap is meant to go through the ring on the door rest of the spur and around the boot like you have it. Throw that carbineer away and get a proper climbing carbineer. They're only about $10.

You wouldn’t need the foam so much if you were closer to the tree. I’ve climbed trees since I was a kid and power poles for nearly 20 years.

😂 I bought those gaffs on the Walmart online store...terrible discomfort after a couple days ..wouldn't suggest them for any lengthy climbing, and the spurs are for poles. Like you said recreational use only... Thanks for the vid

How do the spikes work in a dead tree with a harder wood surface?

Hmmm wonder if this would work for my needs.

Someone keeps stealing my tree stand ladders and then uses my ladders to hunt my stands and takes the ladder with them after they are done. Stands are a minimum of 20 feet up a tree. Was thinking of going up getting my stands and moving them even higher so the ladders are useless. Im not sure if this would work with all the limbs on the tree too.

Im a big guy though about 400 pounds. Either way im in the market for gear if you got any recommendations. Some of the trees are small about the size you climbed to trees as big around as you.

People who are in the tree business and concerned about trees and their health support a rule that says, you don’t’ spike climb a tree unless you are going to cut it down! The spike holes can introduce insects and disease into the trees cambium and on to the whole tree.
This product and its use is dangerous to the tree the human!

The spurs are probably fine.. that saddle and lanyard look terrible. Petzel makes a $200 saddle . A rock climbing harness would be safer some of those are like $50.

The problem with what you have there is that it has no leg straps and D ring. If you put all your weight on that strap without having your gaffs in the tree it's going to suck, forget about what happens if you gaffout and don't have a second choking line hooked up. You will slide all the way to the ground.
