Climate Activist Arrested After Gluing His Head To ‘Girl With A Pearl Earring’ Painting

Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl With A Pearl Earring” was the latest target of environmental activists Wednesday when a man appeared to attempt to glue his own bald head to the 357-year-old painting to bring attention to climate change.

Why accept this man's description of himself? Objectively, he's a vandal. Why should anyone assume he's telling the truth about his motivation, or that he's even willing to admit his motivations to himself? Destruction is an act of hatred, not of love.

So before we say anything else, why are these people vandalizing paintings? Describe to me and everyone else in detail so this can stop happening. I get that there's a tab/caption explaining that it's because of fossil fuels and stuff, but people aren't going to read through that.

And who would you print it for and why would you if they're just going to burn it. You can't get back some of these books they're so rare they're more precious than art

How would *they* feel is people came up to them as started throwing soup (hot, preferably), rotten tomatoes, potatoes and other rotten veg at them while they use an OIL-BASED superglue to vandalise a priceless painting? Maybe they should get their mouths superglued up, as well...
