Climate activists who tried to glue themselves to a famous painting were stopped by quick-acting museum staff. This latest protest happened at the National Museum of Norway in Oslo, where members of a Norwegian-based group called Stop Oil Exploration attempted to glue their hands to ‘The Scream’ by Edvard Munch. However, video from the group shows that the activists were stopped before the adhesive would stick to the glass covering the art. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

That man needs a raise, he is the first one that stopped the activists before they wasted food and glued themselves to the wall, amazing job!

What these people, who don’t understand BASIC human psychology, is the more you try to force people to accept you, the more they will try NOT to accept you or your ideology. You cannot FORCE people to stand with you.

Never understand activists who think it's a good idea to give people a reason to dislike you and your cause.

Every time I see activists of any sort doing protests like these, I care/know lesser of their cause and start appreciating more of what’s being attacked. Basically the opposite of what they think they’re accomplishing.

If only activists could put these efforts into actually solving the problem.

As a Norwegian, I am proud of the swift action by the guards and police.

I’m so happy that he stopped them, I’m not a art fan but the scream is legit one of the most famous paintings and I can’t imagine it being ruined

I’m an artist and if this happened with my work, I’d be devastated. How dare they disgrace the incredible artists who aren’t even here anymore!!! Have some respect, atleast for the dead.

Honestly, as a fellow artist, I am very upset to see others ruining or attempting to ruin works of art. There has to be a more appropriate way to bring attention to your cause without resolving to shoddy tactics. This will have the opposite affect of whatever you're hoping to achieve because it's offensive. Leave art alone!

I don't think they realize how bad the process of making the glue is for the environment

What I’m confused about is how do they think this will get their point across. This is only gonna make people hate them.

That man needs a raise, protecting the historic artwork from being ruined by protesters, Great Job.

Imagine believing that vandalizing art will lower the global temperature…

As a Malaysian, I can only imagine how smooth their mind is. If you're a climate change activist, advise everyone to grow trees instead of doing idiotic things like this.

As a history nerd give that man a raise

All of these people need to be punished severely, this is absolutely unacceptable and honestly it just creates enemies and turns people against your cause.

I have a legitimate question....who is going to be swayed in a positive manner by seeing these "demonstrations"? It just makes them look crazier than they already do. Seriously? Who thinks this is a good idea?

I’m hoping all artwork these days is protected like this. Thick, shatter-proof glass and indestructible frame. Basically impossible to damage the art

Case in point right here why Priceless artwork especially paintings need to be kept behind glass for there protection

When somebody thinks that throwing soup and then gluing themselves to the wall next to the soup thinks they're teaching you a lesson, you don't correct them or clean it up. You apologize and leave them to hang out with the stinky soup and close the museum for the weekend.
