My employer will not allow either me or my spouse be on the group plan once we each turn 65. She is 64, i and 62 and still working. Next year she has to come off the group plan and go on Medicare. In 3 years when I turn 65, if I am still working, I too will have to leave the group plan and go on Medicare.

Be very careful. I had Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance through the USPS. I did not take Medicare at 65. I found that at 70 I needed Medicare. I bad charged $80 a month penalty for not taking lMedicare at 65. THEN, I am charged $20 a month penalty by Blue Cross Blue Shield for Part D. Why?? Because although I had a high tier policy with BC/BS, IT WAS NOT CONSIDERED A CREDITABLE INSURANCE POLICY PROVING IT WAS BETTER THAN MEDICARE. This is what I was told. $100 a month in penalties for ten years. WHY?? Because my husband, who carried the insurance through the postal service was retired for the past 5 years. I personally spoke to 4 SSA reps and not one person mentioned this to me. It cost me $10, 000 for their neglect.

Question for you? I have AARP-United Health Care as a Supplement to my Medicare Part A&B. I take the blood thinner Eliquis 5mg twice a day. I get a 90 day supply. I always used a $10 a month manufacturer coupon for a long time now. I we t to refill my 90 day supply today and I was told that I could not use that $10 coupon because I'm on Medicare. Why is this? Any suggestions

Now...With Medicare there are virtually no networks and in most cases, no referrals necessary to see a specialist. A lot of MDs take Medicare.
