This video focuses on the importance of physical activity during childhood. Most children and parents underestimate the importance of engaging in daily physical activity. As a result, many children do not meet the recommended physical activity guidelines. It has been determined that a lack of physical activity can lead to long-term health effects. With the help of an expert in the field - Dr. Brian Timmons, who is the Canada Research Chair in Child Health & Exercise Medicine, we discuss the scientific importance of physical activity during pediatric years, the implications of not meeting guidelines, exercise importance during pediatric disease and disability, and promotion of physical activity during childhood.

This video was made by McMaster University students Kiara Theron, Leili Hadayeghi, Kushal Mavadia and Mitali Chopra, in collaboration with the Demystifying Research McMaster Program.
