"why does my engine burn oil?"

This guy knows nothing about oil changes.

Oil is cheap, engines are expensive. Change the oil at 5000 or every 6 months.

7, 500 miles means you’re pushing it 😂

3k to 5k is pretty typical for oil changes. Just because you can go 7k doesn't mean you should. Some cars now say 10k, but I'll stick to 3k to 5k.

The scam is they don't use full synthetic or the right weight. They may not even change the oil at all and just say they did.

Plot Twist: this is a scam from the OEMs to get cars to stop lasting 300k

I’ve seen what happens to the canister filters if you go 7500 miles. Lol. If you think it’s a scam change your own damned oil. Yeah, you can go 7500-10, 000 miles if you are constantly driving in ideal driving conditions meaning absolutely no stop and go, and all highway miles. Otherwise you’re driving most likely in extreme driving conditions year round, requiring the oil to be changed if it very dirty at 3, 000 miles or 5, 000. Also has a lot to do with your driving habits. So I promise it’s not a scam.

False. Vehicles with full synthetic these days have tight oil specs and small oil channels... tight engine specs overall for highest EPA and emissions standards. 5, 000 full synthetic on non turbos, 3, 000 on twin or single turbo & 3, 000 on supercharged. Synthetic blend on non turbo is 3, 000 and 2, 000 on twin/single turbo & supercharged. Finally conventional is 3, 000 non turbo and 2, 000 on single turbo/supercharged and 1, 500 on twin turbo.

Oil changes are the most important preventative maintenance...if you really think you can go 7500 or even 10k between oil changes, Your knowledge of Cars and how they work are minimal. (Just like the guy in the video). But to each his own. Dont cry when your engine craps out on you.

The talk back from the kid character was hilarious. Like everyone who believes 7500 miles is ok 👍 👌 😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂 ❤❤❤

-been a lube technician for a year-
Conventional oils are build to last 3, 000

Synthetic blends~ 3-5, 000 depending on additives (high mileage synthetic blends last longer)

And full synthetics last 5k-10, 000 miles with high mileage oil and Mobile1 being the high end of the spectrum

The real ripoff is people buying “manufacturer made” oil as its just mobile1 rebranded and marked up. The only reason why oil change shops print a sticker for 3k is because it’s a good idea to get the oil at least inspected. 3k city mileage is way different than 3k highway mileage in terms of stress on your vehicle

Damn, I cant believe you got scammed by being informed of when your next oil change SHOULD be 🤣

Thought I was the only one thinking 7500 is a lil push towards lazy/can’t do it but I’d say 5000 is ok

My 2018 civic has an indicator system that tells when the oil needs to be changed so I just go by that

You can do 7, 500 and over if you’re not planning to keep your car over 100k. If you plan on keeping as long as possible, change it much much sooner. 5k max, even with good oil. Oil is cheap, new engines and cars are not.

Eugenes

6000 max for new, as the car ages move to 5 4 and then 3

I'm at 190k miles and I got my change last at 4000 ish

Depends on the car and what type of oil 😂 all cars don’t run on the same oil man.
