The line "After you died I couldn't hold a funeral, so my life became a funeral" still haunts me to this day. Especially in the original Korean "당신이 죽은뒤 장례식을 치르지 못해 내 삶이 장례식이 되었습니다"
As a bilingual I got to read both the original Korean and the English translation and man even as someone who is really familiar w/ the subject as my father's from Gwangju, it was a harrowing read

It's a video from six years ago. I'm so ashamed of myself as a Korean who hasn't read it yet. I'm not ready to cry yet... I've read some other books by Han Kang.
