If you can't find this deal, just go to Best buy and find an open box with no issues (which is most of them, condition usually is good to excellent) and you will have the best bang for buck laptop at a heavy discount. Got a Dell G7 with the works for only 625! I'm sure you can find an open box Acer or HP for like 300 or so

Next time when you want to upgrade something on a laptop. Remember to disconnect the battery first (This is probably the reason why your motherboard got fried)

I wouldn’t call this laptop “future proof” because one wrong mistake when changing the ram you won’t have a future.

For an extra $80 I got a thinkbook 14s with a dedicated gpu AMD Radeon 540x really recommend has a better display, definitely cooler with 2 fans and 2 heat pipes, thinner and better build quality

I thought it can added with sata drive we just need to provide cable and bracket, it is a swift 3 motherboard and some of them is using hdd, and i can see the sata slot there, so why not

The ram Short spark happened to me as well. You can turn on the laptop after resetting the battery. There is a small pin hole at the back to reset the battery. After that the laptop worked. 😅
