So many wonderful mATX cases and no new mATX boards. WTF. They clearly hate money.

One other tip I'd give people about this board, is the CPU fan and pump connectors are labelled a bit differently than other boards. If you are doing AIO put the pump header wire into Pump Sys1, and the vent fans into CPU Fan1.

Usually that doesn't make a difference, but I had them the other way around and my AIO vent fans were really loud at a high RPM even on idle. Once I swapped them over everything is working perfectly. Obviously just some sort of bios setting depending on the slots.

I had this board. I do want to point out mine was defective. One of the m.2 screws (for 2 & 3) was screwed in too tight by manufacturer (bottom left one) and impossible to get out. Had to return it.

Any word on whether MSI are supporting ECC memory this time around? It's something that ASUS and ASRock support on most of their boards and it looks like Gigabyte have started to support it on certain boards now too.

Isn't this a downgrade on the X670E tomahawk as it only features a single Promontory 21 chipset so will have just 12 lanes available from the board rather than the dual 21 chipsets and 20 lanes available on the X670E tomahawk?

I went for this motherboard specificaly cuz the platform is just a more mature version of x670 so I think it is more stable and less buggy overall

The extra power connector is for the extra power to the PCI lanes but this is a terrible position for it as it limits what card you can put in PCIe slot 3. Lots of use 3 GPUs and that slot has a dual card in it. Interested to see how ProArt handles this as their x670e does it well.

my choice of x870 is gonna be the asrock x870 nova wifi. only because of the power phaze. I normally buy msi only msi. but this round of boards asrock is delivering big time. the tai chi is 24+2+1 thats really nice. the nova is gonna be 20+2+1 which is better than any of the msi boards exept the god like board/ and that board is gonna be like 1500.00. im good on that.
