Let me clarify what he said in case it was confusing because honestly it kind of doesn’t make sense. In the games shadow was made in a man made life form created by Gerald robotnik, he made a deal with black doom to give shadow his DNA. In the movies shadow is from a different planet and not created by Gerald. Thats basically it. we don’t know where he comes from but my guess is he came from Sonics planet and was taken by the black arms, they gave him his powers and the red stripes all over his body because they resemble the black arms logo, then on an attack on their ship shadow was sent away for protection and ended up on earth.

He’s not created in the film he was discovered in a crashed asteroid/meteor… origin still mysterious but he wasn’t created by Gerald Robotnik in the film, just kept as a test project

In games Gerald makes a deal with Black Doom to create Shadow. In the movies Shadow just sorta appears but I suspect that Gerald (and with some Maria input) made Shadows shoes, inhibitor rings, and other accessories. As for Shadow himself I believe that Black Doom created Shadow...as for why and what purpose my guess is to collect the Chaos Emeralds considering that in the movie it is confirmed Shadow uses Chaos Energy and in Shadow The Hedgehog (The Game) Black Doom has Shadow collect the 7 Chaos Emeralds. My theory: Black Doom created Shadow to collect the 7 Chaos Emeralds and become the ultimate weapon...or The Ultimate Lifeform. But still, this is only a theory and can be wrong lol
