He is my friend’s dad. We lost him in 2015 earthquake. Rest in peace!

Forget about making it to the summit. I've got mad respect for anyone who just makes it across the icefall.

No amount of money in the world would get me to cross those ladders

What the hell is holding that ladder in place on the other side? Snow? No thanks.

"But its not just that I crossed, Anyone can do that - It's that I've learnt to conquer my fears"
Very powerful words.

"I learned that anyone can do this", he hasn't met me.

I fell deep into a crevasse on my own in Chamonix in 1999. Spent 8 hours carving my way out, thinking I was sure dead all that time. When I look at that blue abyss, I feel drawn to it; like it was the last time I was truly alive, and the place I don't mind ending up dead.

“If the ladder collapses, what will happen to my family?” He wasn’t concerned about himself at all, he knew what would happen to him. You can tell he thinks about his loved ones often when facing danger.

The cameraman is immortal! They survive anything to everything!

The scariest part is, right below him is probably dozens of people who have died there

The scary part about accidentally falling into a big-ass crevasse like this isn't dying, it's when you somehow managed to survive it. Your crew won't know that you did survive and if they do know, no one knows how to get you. You'll be slowly dying in a cold dark place with your body mangled, alone and hopeless.

for anyone concerned about the surface beneath the pile of snow there, it is not just ice, but glaciated ice which is very strong.

The craziest part is how he didn't even wear gloves the whole time.
