An alliance between our species doesn't have to be an alliance of equals, we could a client race that has the potential to earn equal status if we fight well and sacrifice much in the upcoming war or she could trick humanity into liking her species by purposefully leading her enemies to earth and staying hidden until half or more of the planet is destroyed before announcing her presence and rescuing the few remaining nations and cities thus making us view them as sudden saviors rather then more invaders.
